This Cookie Policy explains how Alliance Unlimited Inc. (“AU,” “we,” “us,” “our”) uses cookies and similar tracking technologies on allianceunlimited.com.
This policy is a companion to and incorporates by reference our Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.
What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They are widely used to make websites work, to make them work more efficiently, and to provide information to the website owners.
We also use similar technologies including:
- Local storage and session storage (text data stored in your browser)
- IndexedDB (a structured-data store in your browser used for offline-capable apps and learner worksheet state)
- Pixels and tags (tiny invisible images or scripts that load when you view a page or open an email)
- Server-side identifiers (anonymous session IDs we generate to track a single browsing session without requiring cookies)
Throughout this policy, “cookies” refers collectively to all these technologies.
Why we use cookies
We use cookies for three reasons:
- To make the site work. Some cookies are required — without them you can’t log in, complete a purchase, or save your worksheet progress.
- To understand how the site is used. We measure performance, popular pages, drop-off points, and overall traffic so we can improve the site. We do not track individuals across other sites.
- To measure our own advertising. When you arrive from a Microsoft Ads campaign and complete a conversion (newsletter signup, course enrollment), we track that conversion so we know our ad spend works. We do not run cross-site behavioral advertising.

These cookies measure how well our own ads on Microsoft Ads are working. We do not sell your data, and we do not share your data with cross-site advertising networks.

How to manage your cookie preferences
On our site
You can change your cookie preferences at any time:
- Open our cookie preferences page at /cookies/ and click “Update my preferences”
- The same banner that appeared on your first visit will reopen with your current settings; adjust and save
Through Global Privacy Control (GPC)
If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal (Brave, Firefox with privacy add-ons, DuckDuckGo, others), we automatically respect it. We treat GPC as an opt-out signal for analytics and advertising cookies.

Note that disabling necessary cookies will break the site (you won’t be able to log in or complete a purchase). Disabling analytics cookies has no functional impact — the site still works the same way.

Third-party cookies are governed by the third party’s privacy policies, not ours. We don’t control what these third parties do with the data they receive — but we have contractual data-protection agreements with each that limit their use to delivering services to AU.
How long cookies are stored
Each cookie has its own lifespan, listed in the tables above. Generally:
- Session cookies are deleted when you close your browser
- Persistent cookies remain until they expire or you delete them — anywhere from a few days to 13 months
- Local storage and IndexedDB persist until you clear browser data
Children
Our site is intended for adults (18+). We do not knowingly collect cookies or other data from children under 13 (or under 16 in the EEA / UK).
International cookies
For users in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, Switzerland, Quebec, or other jurisdictions with strict cookie-consent laws: we obtain your consent before any non-necessary cookie loads. The cookie banner is shown on first visit and your choice is recorded with timestamp.
For users in California or another U.S. state with privacy laws: we honor Global Privacy Control signals, provide a “Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information” link in our site footer, and limit cookies to the categories listed above.

We may update this policy as our practices, the law, or our service offerings change. When we do:
